About Us

The Skating Club of Central Ohio is an organization dedicated to the promotion of figure skating in Central Ohio. Our goal is to help skaters advance their skills and develop a love of skating that will last a lifetime. Members of the club include skaters, coaches, parents, judges, and anyone else who loves skating. The club is a non-profit organization in accordance with IRS Section 501(c)(3).

Participation in SCOCO is the next step for skaters who have completed the Chiller's Skating School USFS Basic Skills program and wish to expand their skills in the various disciplines of figure skating. Participation in USFS sanctioned competitions and exhibitions is encouraged.

SCOCO creates opportunities for skaters to build confidence as they become accomplished in their choice of moves in the field (MIF), freestyle, and dance. SCOCO conducts official test sessions in which USFS judges come to Chiller facilities to evaluate skaters progress through a series of tests identified in the USFS skating program.

SCOCO is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who receive no compensation.

SCOCO utilizes Chiller North in Lewis Center, OH as our home rink, and also skates at The Chiller in DublinThe Chiller at Easton, and The Ohio Health Ice Haus in downtown Columbus.
